Chris has 30 years experience in the Automotive, Aerospace and Rail Industries with the majority of that being in the Automotive sector. In his early career, Chris spent 7 years with Ford working in Light Truck Engineering which was followed by 17 years at Hawtal Whiting and Wagon plc. As Technical Director, he had overall responsibility for development through to production of a number of projects including a Mazda sports car, a lightweight chassis for Jaguar and the Honda Civic estate car. More recently he was an Associate Director for Arup which involved a year long assignment managing Arup’s office in Detroit, and then Program Management of two large Aerospace projects. Prior to taking on the role of Program Director on the t-001 project, Chris was a Senior Program Manager at Ricardo.

The team retains extensive global knowledge of automotive design, manufacturing systems and final vehicle production and has been responsible for bringing 19 different vehicles to market over the past two decades.
A highly experienced, professional and conscientious Program Manager who has successfully implemented major automotive development projects for a number of automotive OEM’s throughout the world, from Formula 1 to single seat electric vehicles. An Engineering graduate, with a Master’s Degree in Manufacturing Technology and over 30 years’ experience in a number of engineering fields, particularly in Automotive Project and Production Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Component Sourcing, Supplier Selection and Logistics.
As a Project Manager, Erik has developed a strong track-record achieving high-quality deliverables in accordance with cost and schedule targets. Most recently Erik was Emerald’s proposal manager, leading the team to deliver an offer that will help a visionary client to meet its current and future commercial fleet delivery needs.
Jim has held a series of project management and business leadership roles in the automotive and construction industries in a career spanning over 25 years.
Most recently, he was Regional Director for an international construction and program management company based in London.
Previously Jim was head of Arup’s automotive practice in the USA, based in Detroit, before transferring to Los Angeles where he led Arup’s multi-disciplinary industrial consulting practice for 2 years.
Jim also worked with Andy Tempest as Programmes Director at Hawtal Whiting overseeing development activities for several vehicles, principally for Ford, Land Rover, Bentley, Daewoo and Mazda.
Peter has a career spanning over 25 years in the Automotive, Power Generation and Aerospace Industries. During this time he has managed key Quality Management and Supply Chain projects at the Electricity Supply Commission (South Africa), Smiths Manufacturing and Magna. More recently introducing Quality Management Systems and Low Cost Country Sourcing at Lotus and developing Supplier Management Strategies at Marshall Aerospace.
Steve has over 35 years’ Project Management experience in the Automotive industry covering Design, Development and Manufacturing. His career started at Ford followed by 19 years at Hawtal Whiting and Wagon PLC, where he was responsible for the company’s test and development including passenger cars, heavy and light truck development programmes and more latterly new model production line design and installation for high volume commodity supply. Before joining Emerald, Steve worked for MIRA for 5 years and amongst other projects, led the design of an unmanned ground vehicle which was put into service with the British Army.
Tom has nearly 20 years direct experience of Automotive OEMs, focusing on roles specifically associated with Quality Assurance and more recently Manufacturing / Facility Operations. Most recently he was responsible for the initial design and development of the Tesla European Assembly Centre in the Netherlands, overseeing the assembly of the European Model S. Previous to that, Tom oversaw the final 2 years of production for the Tesla Roadster as Operations Director in the UK
Prior to working with Tesla, he held various Quality Assurance positions at Lotus, including Quality Management System implementation across multiple sites, facilitation of various cost down programmes, vehicle warranty reduction, and manufacturing quality improvements.
